The Voice of Nonprofit Talent - Research Report Design

The Voice of Nonprofit Talent - Research Report Design

Level Playing Field Institute and Commongood Careers have published a new study titled The Voice of Nonprofit Talent: Perceptions of Diversity in the Workplace. The study surveyed a large sample of current and former nonprofit employees to explore the commitment to and perception of racial diversity in nonprofit work environments. Creative was brought on to bring the report to life with a clean and engaging design.

Logo Design: Black & Proud to Be College Bound

Black & Proud to Be College Bound

Coming up in March, the Mitchell Kapor Foundation is continuing their evolution of the College Bound Brotherhood with the Black & Proud to Be College Bound Conference. The Conference focuses on a series of workshops for student members of the Brotherhood, but also includes exhibition space for the member organizations.

For the front-facing event image, the Foundation wanted something of permanence that could be used in future years and lend the Brotherhood an established collegiate feel. It needed to be something to represent both the program and the young black men that the program is all about.

Going Away

Going Away

One of the Kapor Center's longest residents, our coworker with the mostworker, Esther, is moving on to new ventures. We threw her a helluva going away party and I had the honor of creating an illustration for the send-off.

Kapor Center Postcard Flyers

Kapor Center Postcard Flyers

After we got the It's Time murals up on the walls of the Kapor Center, we figured it would make sense to let the large scale murals make their ways into the hands of others in the community. As a result, we created simple 4x6 postcards that we put around the office, leave at events, and hand out at conferences.

Our Holiday Party - Save the Date Design

Our Holiday Party - Save the Date Design

Our very sane event planners at the Kapor Center 543 long ago figured out that the right time for an office holiday party is, in fact, well after the holidays, in January. During the chaos of December, as everyone is putting the wrapping up their travel plans, decorations and gift shopping, it's a blessing not to have to add another event to the calendar, and certainly must make the event planning easier.

The Kapor Center & Nevis

The Kapor Center & Nevis

Nevis is a free-to-use typeface designed by Ten By Twenty, aka Ed Merritt, that works wonderfully as a clean display font. It's also the typeface we've chosen to represent The Kapor Center as we being to approach the new era of our family of organizations.

Mind Mapping with Xmind

Mind Mapping with Xmind

We recently used Xmind to create a series of mindmaps to capture and document discussions at the 2010 What Works! conference sponsored by Mitchell Kapor Foundation. Mindmapping is a great tool to use for brainstorming and planning, but in this case, we used it for notetaking and graphic faciliation.

What Works 2010 - Transferring Branding

What Works 2010 - Transferring Branding

This past Monday and Tuesday, Mitchell Kapor Foundation hosted it's 3rd What Works event, a chance for the foundation's grantees to convene and share their recent successful strategies and challenges with their cousin organizations. I had the pleasure of attending, and, like every year, listening to this group of exemplary minds discuss the current political climate and their work in the non-profit world was an eye-opening experience.

SMASH & IDEAL: 2010 Wrap-Up Events

SMASH & IDEAL: 2010 Wrap-Up Events

Each year, the SMASH and IDEAL programs end with a pseudo-graduation event celebrating the students efforts throughout the year. This year, we decided to simplify the printed programs from the sometimes ambitious approaches we've taken in previous years. Still, as the Creative team, we're always working to bring clever ideas to even straightforward materials.
